Stadionul din marmură din Atena al primelor Jocuri Olimpice moderne este curățat după un secol

The Panathenaic Stadium in Athens is undergoing its first systematic cleaning in over a century to restore its original appearance. The project aims to remove dirt and organic material without damaging the historical marble. Cleaning methods include controlled pressure water and steam for gum removal. The stadium, a significant tourist attraction, will also receive a new track and upgraded facilities. The restoration is funded privately and coordinated by the Hellenic Olympic Committee, with completion expected by 2026, ahead of the Olympic flame handover ceremony.
