These fraudulent calls may request personal data, banking information, and money transfers. SRI emphasizes that they never ask for sensitive information over the phone. If such a call is received, individuals should not provide any information and should hang up. To verify the caller's identity, SRI advises manually dialing the official number from trusted sources. Spoofing allows attackers to display any number, misleading victims into trusting them.
