Spotify will introduce 'AI Persona' labels for certain artist profiles to help users identify whether the music is created by a real person or AI. This initiative addresses user concerns about profiles that appear to represent real artists but are actually AI-generated. The label will be displayed on artist banners, profile sections, search results, and playlists. Artists can declare their AI identity through Spotify for Artists, and Spotify will review profiles using photorealistic AI images. AI artists will be excluded from recommendations unless already followed by the user. The label focuses on public identity, not the music creation process, aiming for greater transparency as AI-generated identities become harder to distinguish from real artists.
