Spațiile verzi din Sibiu au crescut cu aproape 49 de hectare în cinci ani: orașul rămâne însă în urma marilor municipii
Sibiu has one of the lowest public green spaces per capita in Romania, with only 14 square meters per resident, far below WHO recommendations. However, from 2021 to 2025, the city's green space increased significantly, despite a declining population. The area of green spaces rose from 447.86 hectares to 496.84 hectares, improving the per capita green space from 26.88 to 31.01 square meters. Despite this growth, Sibu still ranks last among major Romanian cities in terms of green space percentage. Future urban plans aim to further increase green areas and improve connectivity between parks.
