Romanian tennis player Sorana Cîrstea advanced to the second round of the WTA 500 tournament in Ningbo, China, after defeating Han Shi in straight sets. Cîrstea, seeded eighth, won 6-3, 6-2 in 1 hour and 15 minutes. She recorded 16 winners compared to Han's 10 and managed to convert five out of ten break points. Despite no aces and three double faults, Cîrstea's performance improved after her recent first-round exit in Wuhan. In the next round, she will face the winner of the match between Sara Bejlek and Xiyu Wang. The tournament has a total prize pool of approximately $1.2 million, with Elena Rybakina as the top seed.
