A recent INSCOP survey reveals that 46.3% of Romanians would accept a less democratic regime for stability, while 47.2% prefer democracy despite its conflicts. The survey, conducted from July 13-16, 2026, involved 1,100 adults and showed a divided opinion on governance. Support for democracy is higher among PNL and USR voters, young people, and urban residents, while a preference for authoritarianism is noted among AUR voters and rural populations. Additionally, 60.6% prioritize democratic control of power, even if it slows decision-making.
