An advanced technology is being used for the first time on the A1 highway to construct a large viaduct without cranes. The incremental launching method allows for the assembly of the metal deck on land, which is then gradually pushed over the bridge supports. This technique is essential for high or hard-to-reach structures. Additionally, the Movable Scaffolding System will be employed for other sections, enabling the construction of bridge segments in tight spaces. The second section of the Sibiu-Pitești highway includes 50 bridges, 7 tunnels, and a mega-ecoduct, with completion expected by 2030.
