Șoferii riscă suspendarea permisului, pentru amenzi rutiere neachitate

Starting August 25, a new mechanism will suspend driving rights for those who do not pay traffic fines within 90 days. The suspension duration is based on the unpaid amount, with one day for every 50 lei owed. This applies to Romanian license holders with outstanding fines, excluding older penalties. Local tax authorities will record these debts and notify drivers within 30 days. If fines remain unpaid after 90 days, the suspension will be enforced. However, drivers can regain their rights by paying the fines, and the suspension can be lifted if payments are made before the period ends.
