Societatea de Transport București, trimisă în insolvență

The Bucharest General Council approved the initiation of insolvency proceedings for the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) due to significant debts. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu emphasized that insolvency is necessary to protect the company from further financial penalties and to ensure public transport services continue. The STB has accumulated debts of approximately 1.72 billion lei, with a significant portion owed to the tax authority. The insolvency process will allow for the restructuring of the company while maintaining its operations. However, it does not guarantee the company's survival, as failure to reorganize could lead to bankruptcy.
