Fuel prices in Romania have increased again, with gasoline rising by 10 bani and diesel by 20 bani per liter. As of August 5, 2026, standard gasoline costs between 9.51 and 9.59 lei per liter, while premium gasoline ranges from 9.99 to 10.17 lei. Diesel prices have also surged, with standard diesel priced between 10.77 and 10.98 lei, and premium diesel between 11.54 and 11.78 lei. The rise in prices is attributed to the conflict in the Middle East, prompting many Romanians to seek cheaper fuel options. The lowest prices are found in Mureș County, where gasoline is sold for 8.74 lei and diesel for 9.79 lei. In major cities, Timișoara offers gasoline at 9.48 lei, while Cluj Napoca has diesel at 10.49 lei.
