The Constitutional Court has postponed the resolution of the conflict between the High Court and the Government regarding unpaid salaries for judges until September 30. The interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan initiated the case after the High Court ruled in favor of the judges' claims. The Government argues that the judiciary is overstepping its authority by demanding budget allocations, which they believe should be the exclusive domain of the executive and legislative branches. The Ministry of Finance opposes the payment of these arrears, citing potential budgetary imbalances. The High Court had previously ordered the Government to pay 4.8 billion lei in salary arrears, with penalties accruing for delays.
