Situația financiară și încrederea în știință, o legătură neașteptată. Ce arată un sondaj global

Global trust in science has declined below pre-pandemic levels, with financial difficulties and unequal access to research benefits contributing to this trend. A survey covering 140 countries revealed that trust dropped from 77% in 2018 to 72% in 2025. The disparity in trust levels is notable between financially stable individuals and those facing hardships. While 39% of respondents with good financial situations expressed high trust in science, only 20% of those struggling did the same. Despite a majority believing scientific research benefits people like them, only a fraction think it aids the broader population. Experts emphasize that distrust may stem from dissatisfaction with how scientific advancements are shared, rather than outright rejection of science.
