Sistemul Electroenergetic Național depășește borna de 2.500 MW de noi capacități de producție și stocare conectate la rețea în 2026
The National Energy System (SEN) has surpassed 2,500 MW of new production and storage capacity connected to the grid in 2026, according to Transelectrica. This milestone was achieved with the connection of a new storage facility, IS Părău, which has a capacity of 76.76 MW. The total installed capacity includes various energy sources, with significant contributions from photovoltaic and storage facilities. The integration of these capacities is crucial for enhancing energy security and flexibility within the SEN. Transelectrica anticipates continued connection of new capacities, aiming for an additional 1,000 MW of photovoltaic and wind energy by the end of 2026, alongside gas production capacities. The company has a development plan for the transmission network valued at over 2 billion euros, focusing on increasing resilience and preparing for a renewable energy-dominant mix.
