Sistemul de Garanţie-Returnare nu funcţionează în 17 comune din Buzău

Environmental inspectors in Buzău imposed fines exceeding 760,000 lei on businesses for non-compliance with the Deposit-Return System (SGR). Many consumers in 17 communes lack access to return points for their containers. The National Environmental Guard conducted numerous inspections, resulting in significant penalties for failing to accept SGR packaging. Despite regulations, some merchants did not comply with the SGR requirements, leading to corrective measures. In 2025, 123 inspections were carried out, and in 2026, 42 inspections were conducted, revealing ongoing issues with compliance. The SGR program allows consumers to recover a deposit of 0.50 lei for each returned container.
