Singurul oraș din România unde străzile nu au nume. Toate sunt numerotate cu cifre arabe. Care e motivul? • Newsweek România
Pecica is the only city in Romania where streets are numbered instead of named, following a system inspired by New York. This unique approach was adopted in 2002 to unify the city's addressing system, which previously had separate naming conventions for its Romanian and Hungarian sectors. The decision aimed to simplify navigation and avoid conflicts over street names. Pecica, located in Arad County, has a population of around 11,950, with a diverse ethnic composition. Other places in Romania, like the small commune of Gostinu, have also opted for numbered streets to prevent disputes over naming.
