Victoria, located in Brașov County, is Romania's only artificial city, designed entirely from scratch in the forest. Established in 1949 for a chemical plant, it was initially a labor camp named 'Colonia Ucea'. Officially recognized as a city in 1954, it features a unique urban layout with no historical center or churches. The city was built with a socialist architectural style and was closely linked to the chemical plant, which provided jobs and essential services. After 1989, Victoria faced demographic challenges but remains a gateway for mountain trails and tourism.
