Simonis: Guvernul a deblocat stadionul din Timișoara

The president of Timiș County Council, Alfred Simonis, announced the allocation of 126 million lei for the new Dan Păltinișanu Stadium, set to begin construction in 2026. He emphasized the government's responsibility to fund such projects in contributing counties. The project has been approved, allowing the signing of contracts for design and execution. The new stadium will have 32,000 seats and will replace the old one. Simonis criticized the requirement for local authorities to cover 25% of costs, highlighting that other stadiums were fully funded by the government. He pointed out that Timiș County significantly contributes to the national budget, advocating for fair treatment in funding.
