Siegfried Mureșan: România va plăti anul acesta peste 60 de miliarde de lei ca dobânzi la împrumuturile contractate pentru a acoperi deficitele record din ultimii ani

Romania is currently spending as much on interest payments as it allocates for education, according to MEP Siegfried Mureșan. He emphasized the need to reduce the deficit to alleviate the financial burden. This year, Romania will pay over 60 billion lei in interest on loans taken to cover record deficits, particularly from 2024. Mureșan highlighted that these funds could have been used for significant infrastructure and healthcare projects. He warned that if the deficit is not addressed, interest payments will continue to rise, leaving less money for essential services. The National Liberal Party aims for economic growth to outpace debt growth.
