Siegfried Mureșan's governance program aims to gradually increase defense spending to 5% of GDP and reunify ANAF with the Romanian Customs Authority. The defense budget will focus on key areas like air defense and naval capabilities, while also enhancing U.S. strategic relations. The program includes modernizing military infrastructure and aligning national defense production with European initiatives. On the fiscal side, it proposes merging ANAF and the Customs Authority, implementing risk-based controls, and introducing performance indicators for ANAF leadership. A new integrated platform for tax data will be operational by mid-2027, aiming to combat tax evasion effectively.
