Siegfried Mureșan: „Nu vom crește taxele”. TVA, de la 21% la 19% „cât de curând posibil”

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan stated that if his government is approved, he will not increase taxes and aims to reduce VAT from 21% to 19%. However, any tax reductions will depend on the budgetary situation. Mureșan emphasized that recent tax increases were necessary to reduce the budget deficit and that further increases are not needed now. He expressed a desire to lower taxes as soon as possible but did not provide a specific timeline. He also mentioned that pension and salary adjustments would be considered when budgetary space allows. Mureșan rejected criticisms from the PSD regarding the economy, asserting that Romania's economic situation has improved over the past year, with a decrease in the deficit and inflation. He specifically mentioned the goal of returning VAT to 19% as soon as feasible.
