Siegfried Mureșan, the designated prime minister, is continuing discussions with parties regarding his governance program, meeting UDMR leaders on September 23. UDMR has expressed hesitations about supporting Mureșan's government, with leader Kelemen Hunor suggesting he should resign if he lacks majority support. Currently, PNL, USR, and UDMR do not have enough votes for government formation without PSD's backing. PSD has decided not to support Mureșan, although Sorin Grindeanu is open to discussions if approached.
