Sibiul pierde centrul geografic al României în favoarea Făgărașului care îl va marca spectaculos

Făgăraș will become the geographical center of Romania, featuring a 30-meter flagpole and a thematic park designed like the country's map. This project, funded by nearly 10 million euros in EU funds, aims to attract tourists and promote national identity. The location was confirmed by mathematical calculations in 2012 and officially recognized in 2021. The park will include green spaces representing Romania's historical regions, enhancing local tourism. Additionally, a separate project focuses on restoring the Făgăraș Fortress, with a budget of 43.5 million lei, aimed at preserving cultural heritage and improving visitor experience.
