Tourists from Hong Kong noted that some restaurant prices are comparable to London, which surprised them given Romania's lower average salaries. Despite the challenges, many locals appreciate the vibrant atmosphere and cultural events brought by visitors. In 2025, Sibiu recorded over 607,000 tourist arrivals, marking a 7% increase from the previous year. The trend continued into 2026, with significant growth in summer months. While some residents enjoy the bustling environment, they also face issues like parking difficulties and increased living costs, yet many do not wish for fewer tourists, finding the current balance acceptable.
