Sibianul care a furat zeci de copaci dintr-o pădure, rămâne în arest

A local man from Nou was arrested for illegally cutting and stealing trees from the Roșia forest, causing damages over 23,000 lei. The 35-year-old is accused of cutting down 21 trees between September 4-5, with a total volume of 23.334 cubic meters. Police were notified on September 7, leading to investigations and four home searches on September 29, 2026. During these searches, 19.773 cubic meters of illegally obtained oak wood were recovered. The man was initially detained for 24 hours and later placed in preventive custody for 30 days by the Sibiu Court.
