Valeriu, an 80-year-old, traded in his 22-year-old car for a hybrid, motivated by the financial incentive. Dacia and Ford emerged as the main beneficiaries of the program, benefiting from their local production. Other brands like Skoda and Toyota also saw interest, but competition from Chinese manufacturers increased. The next phase involves verifying applications, as having a voucher does not guarantee a car purchase. If approved, the Rabla program could lead to over 28,000 new cars and 1,500 motorcycles on Romanian roads by 2026.
