Sfantul Toma, sărbătorit pe 6 octombrie. De unde vine expresia Toma Necredinciosul
Saint Apostle Thomas, celebrated on October 6 and the first Sunday after Easter, is known as "Doubting Thomas" due to his initial skepticism about Jesus' resurrection. His name means "twin" in both Aramaic and Greek. Thomas showed devotion to Jesus, famously stating he would die with Him. He is recognized for his doubt when he requested proof of the resurrection, which Jesus provided, leading Thomas to declare Jesus as "My Lord and My God." After preaching in Parthia, he is believed to have traveled to India, where he is considered the founder of the Syrian Christian Church. Thomas was martyred in India, and his relics were later moved to Italy. He is the patron saint of architects and builders, among others.
