Sfântul Ciprian, sărbătorit pe 2 octombrie. Povestea de viață a unui fost vrăjitor devenit mucenic
Saint Cyprian, celebrated on October 2, was a prominent early Christian theologian and martyr. Born in Carthage around 200 AD, he converted to Christianity around 246 AD after a successful career as a lawyer. He became the bishop of Carthage and faced severe persecution under Emperor Decius. Despite challenges, he led the North African Christians and established key principles of church discipline. His authority was later tested by disputes with the Roman church, particularly regarding the validity of baptisms performed by those who had renounced their faith. Cyprian emphasized the unity of the Church and was ultimately martyred in 258 AD during the reign of Emperor Valerian, solidifying his legacy as a key figure in early Christianity.
