Serbian security services have warned that President Aleksandar Vučić's potential visit to Montenegro for the EU-Western Balkans summit poses significant security risks due to regional tensions. High-profile European leaders, including Emmanuel Macron and Ursula von der Leyen, are expected to attend the summit in Tivat, focusing on the accession progress of Western Balkan countries. The Serbian Intelligence Agency cited hostile foreign intelligence activities and the presence of a criminal clan in Montenegro as reasons for the security concerns. Despite these warnings, Vučić plans to attend important meetings at the summit. Tensions between Serbia and Montenegro have escalated due to political disputes, particularly regarding Kosovo, leading to increased security measures and border incidents.
