Serbia has received an extension from the US for its oil company NIS and has prolonged its gas supply agreement with Russia until the end of the year. The US Treasury's OFAC has extended the sanctions waiver for NIS until October 30, 2026, allowing continued oil imports. Meanwhile, Serbia's gas contract with Gazprom has been extended for three months under favorable conditions. Additionally, Serbia has signed a shareholder agreement with SOCAR for a new power plant in Nis, expected to be completed by 2030, enhancing energy security in the region.
