The law passed the legal committee and is now subject to constitutional challenge by PNL. USR senator Stefan Pălărie criticized the law as unconstitutional, citing examples of PSD leaders with significantly younger partners. AUR senator Cristina-Gabriela Dumitrescu stated that their amendment regarding declarations of assets is necessary. The law was previously approved by the Chamber of Deputies, with significant support from PSD.
