Senatul a eliminat incompatibilitatea consilierilor locali

The Romanian Senate has repealed amendments to the Administrative Code that placed local and county councilors in a conflict of interest. The vote resulted in 82 in favor, 19 against, and 21 abstentions, moving the law towards promulgation. USR senator Sorin Sipoș announced plans to challenge the law in the Constitutional Court, criticizing it for creating double standards. The repealed provisions addressed conflicts of interest for public administration staff, stating that those in conflict must abstain from decision-making. The new law exempts individuals from legal responsibility for conflicts arising between specific dates.
