The Romanian Senate has adopted the Urbanism Code, a reform included in the PNRR aimed at simplifying construction procedures and securing €972 million in EU funds. Additionally, the Senate approved the SAFE loan agreement with the EU, amounting to €16.68 billion, which will enhance Romania's defense capabilities. The new Urbanism Code consolidates regulations into a single act, streamlining processes and introducing digitalization for permits. It also mandates financial contributions from large residential developers for local infrastructure. The law is set to take effect 15 days post-promulgation.
