The second ordinary session of the Senate for 2026 commenced, marking the fourth session of the 2024-2028 legislature. The session was led by Mircea Abrudean with 118 senators present. Senators will establish the new composition of the Permanent Bureau, with nominations for vice-presidents, secretaries, and treasurers announced in plenary. The new Bureau will be approved by a majority vote. The leadership of each parliamentary group will also be announced during the session, with the first meeting of the new Bureau scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
