Semnal radio detectat pentru prima dată de pe o planetă din afara Sistemului Solar
Astronomers have detected a radio wave from the exoplanet Beta Pictoris b, marking a first in astronomy. This gas giant, located 63 light-years away, exhibits strong magnetic fields that generate auroras similar to Earth's. The discovery, made using the MeerKAT telescope, suggests that Beta Pictoris b has a magnetic field at least 200 times stronger than Jupiter's. This finding could provide new insights into exoplanet atmospheres and their magnetic interactions with space environments. The research awaits peer review, but it has already sparked excitement about the potential for understanding distant worlds.
