In the first half of 2026, Romania's GDP was estimated at 1.023 trillion lei, reflecting a real decrease of 1.6% compared to the same period in 2025. Positive contributions to GDP growth came from construction, cultural activities, and agriculture, while trade and industry negatively impacted the GDP. Household consumption declined significantly, contributing negatively to GDP changes, while public administration and investment showed positive growth. The net export also had a negative effect due to rising imports outpacing exports.
