A drug trafficking group was dismantled by DIICOT, with four individuals arrested for smuggling cannabis seeds from the Czech Republic. They intended to cultivate and sell cannabis. Investigators discovered over 90 cannabis plants and approximately 42 kilograms of cannabis and plant material during searches. The group operated from June to September 2026, led by a 43-year-old man. The seeds were transported by air through a courier service to be cultivated in Giurgiu County. The suspects were detained on September 8, and a preventive arrest was ordered for 30 days by the Bucharest Tribunal. The investigation involved border police and special intervention forces.
