Authorities found that the adaptive traffic lights worsened traffic flow instead of improving it. The system was tested at key intersections, but monitoring revealed more traffic jams than before. Consequently, the decision was made to disable the traffic lights until a solution is found to ensure safe and smooth traffic flow. The primary goal of the system was to manage traffic better in busy intersections, but initial results were disappointing.
