Despite being in insolvency since August 26, the refinery is not abandoned, and efforts are focused on preserving its technical capabilities. The management is awaiting a specific license from U.S. authorities to facilitate operations without triggering sanctions. The refinery's restart could significantly enhance Romania's refining capacity amid ongoing fuel crises in Europe.
