Șeful Consiliului Concurenței, despre scumpirile de carburanți: „Nu exclud ca operatorii să profite înainte de noua plafonare a adaosului comercial”
The President of the Competition Council, Bogdan Chirițoiu, expressed concerns about potential price increases in fuel due to supply issues or profit margin hikes. He noted that recent price spikes might be linked to regional supply disruptions or operators taking advantage of the upcoming price cap. Chirițoiu stated that data collected so far does not indicate problems during the previous price cap period, where Romanian fuel prices were lower than the EU average. The Council is currently gathering data from oil companies to determine the cause of the recent price increases and expects to have a clearer picture by the end of the month. Meanwhile, preparations for the new price cap implementation are underway.
