Ciprian-Ionuț Trifan, president of Vaslui County Council, was questioned by DNA in connection with a meeting regarding the dismissal of DSVSA director Mihai Ponea. The meeting, held in February 2025, involved several political leaders discussing support for Ponea's removal, which was requested by Dan-Mihai Marian. Trifan attended the hearing as a witness, not a suspect, and did not provide comments to the press. The investigation centers on alleged political influence and actions taken by businessman Fănel Bogos, who sought to overturn decisions made against his companies after a salmonella outbreak. Other political figures, including Mihai Barbu, are also under scrutiny for their involvement in the case.
