Around 1,500 stores were impacted, with approximately 50 Carrefour locations affected, including 20 that were looted. The violence has exacerbated challenges for businesses already struggling from previous crises. Over half a million people protested against rising living costs, leading to violent clashes with law enforcement, resulting in numerous arrests and injuries among police and emergency responders.
