Șefii Vămii și Poliției de Frontieră Halmeu, reținuți de DNA

Nine individuals, including the heads of the Halmeu Border Police and Customs Office, were detained for 24 hours on corruption charges. Prosecutors allege they formed a criminal group involved in bribery at the Halmeu border crossing. Investigations revealed that from 2022, officials collected bribes from drivers entering Romania from Ukraine, with a total of 300,000 euros found during searches. Eight of the accused will appear in court for preventive arrest. The investigation continues against an additional 38 border police and customs officials for similar offenses.
