Nine individuals, including leaders from Halmeu Customs and Border Police, were detained in a major corruption case involving bribery at the Ukrainian border. The group allegedly extorted money from drivers, with amounts ranging from 50 to 1,900 euros. Prosecutors conducted nearly 100 searches across several counties, leading to the identification of 38 additional suspects. The organized crime group was structured in three tiers, with top officials coordinating the illegal activities. Significant sums of money were collected, totaling tens of thousands of euros, and over 300,000 euros were seized during the raids.
