Ședinţă de criză la Comandamentul Energetic. Centrala de la Cernavodă rămâne închisă până în octombrie. Bușoi: Rămânem în alertă
The Cernavodă nuclear power plant may remain offline until late September, prolonging the energy crisis into October. Cristian Bușoi from the Ministry of Energy stated that authorities are cautious about a restart date and will reassess after September 15. Romania will compensate for the energy deficit through imports, as the national energy system operates normally despite a shortfall of 1,200-1,300 MW. Bușoi assured that coal reserves are sufficient and gas plants are functioning well. Hydroelectric power is also contributing during peak hours, but reserves must be managed for winter. The energy alert status has been in place since August 1 due to low river levels affecting hydro production, with both reactors at Cernavodă offline, which typically provide 20% of national energy.
