Sectorul industrial din România care pierde 1.000 de angajați în fiecare lună - Economica.net
The Romanian automotive industry is experiencing its longest workforce contraction in a decade, with employment dropping to 132,800 by April 2026. This decline, which has persisted for over eight years, marks the lowest level since 2012. After a significant growth post-2008 financial crisis, the sector peaked at 206,300 employees in 2018 but has since lost over 73,000 jobs. The decline occurred in two phases: an initial drop from 2018 to 2021, followed by a relative stabilization, and then a renewed decline starting in late 2023. The current phase of contraction is particularly concerning due to its ongoing nature.
