Secretarul General al ONU solicită peste un miliard de dolari pentru combaterea epidemiei de Ebola din Congo

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for $1.1 billion to support humanitarian efforts against the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He warned that current funds will only last a few weeks, jeopardizing essential operations needed to control the epidemic. The outbreak, declared on May 15, has resulted in 2,744 deaths across six provinces, surpassing previous records. Guterres emphasized the need for international attention and resources, as approximately 12 million people require humanitarian assistance. Currently, there is no authorized vaccine for the Bundibugyo strain, although clinical studies are ongoing.
