Dan Reșitnec, the Secretary General of the Government, announced a 50% reduction in protocol expenses, which totaled 291,890 lei compared to 548,139 lei last year. He stated that these expenses cover government meetings, conferences, and events with international participation. The reduction is seen as a normal operational practice, with cuts coming from fewer extended analysis meetings. Reșitnec highlighted that previous spending included unjustified demands from officials funded by public money, which have now been reduced. He noted that contracts for protocol services were signed for 2.5 million lei last year and 2.7 million lei this year, but actual expenses are significantly lower.
