Seceta scumpește proviziile pentru iarnă. Fructele și legumele pentru murături și dulcețuri costă cu până la 35% mai mult
This autumn, pickles and jams are expected to be more expensive due to drought affecting vegetable and fruit production in western Romania. Factories have had to source raw materials from southern and eastern regions, leading to increased costs. Prices for some products have risen by up to 35%, with blueberries now costing 19 lei per kilogram compared to 13 lei last year. Producers face higher expenses not only for raw materials but also for utilities and packaging, prompting a price increase of 10-15% for consumers. Despite the hikes, some products remain cheaper than market prices, leading consumers to buy from stores instead of making their own preserves. Vendors report a significant drop in sales, with customers purchasing much smaller quantities than in previous years.
