Due to severe drought and repeated heatwaves, French authorities have temporarily relaxed production rules for three protected cheese types. This measure addresses the feeding of cows affected by pasture drying. Producers can now use more feed and cereals from outside traditional areas. The situation for fodder is considered severely degraded across much of France, with historical drought conditions reported.
