Extreme drought in Romania has led to severe water shortages, particularly in Dolj County, where water supply has been restricted. Lakes and rivers, once popular summer destinations, are now dry. The Vârșolț reservoir in Sălaj, crucial for local water supply, is at only 33% capacity, with water levels dropping significantly. The Crazna River, the main water source for the reservoir, is barely contributing to its levels. Similar drought conditions are affecting multiple watercourses in the Someș-Tisa basin, with many completely dry.
